For Women

Osteoporosis is a condition of bones that leads to an increased risk of fracture. This typically affects women after their menopause and is called postmenopausal osteoporosis. However, this may occasionally occur in men too. Women’s physiology is such that after menopause the calcium level in their body comes down drastically.

This results in the bones becoming soft which in turn causes the woman to be prone to falls, joint-pains and difficulty in walking fast and especially climbing the stairs. This condition can be prevented if women in their late thirties or early forties start taking calcium supplements along with normal intake of calcium-rich food.

Care should be taken not to have an overdose of calcium for excess of calcium may lead to calcium stones in kidneys. The affected women should refrain from rigorous physical activity, or must not undergo any massage to relieve the pain unless with trained physiotherapists. So to all women out there, have your regular correct dosage of calcium and exercise well to lead a healthy and happy life.
