Excess Fat Can Turn Fatal

For over two decades, oncologists have had a hunch that fat spells disaster but they had no real evidence. Later based on various studies it has been proved that obesity has nailed as a culprit aiding and abetting cancer and also figures show that there is an increased cancer-risk of 34 to 59 percent in the obese.

Excess estrogen can result in endometrial and breast cancer. Fat cells also result in high insulin-like growth factors. Fat cells produce chemicals that cause inflammation; and an out-of-control inflammatory response may turn into a cancerous response.

Basically, the key cause seems to be cell growth and cell multiplication getting out of control. Fatty tissue seems to produce chemicals that can affect the delicate balance of the immune system whose role is to control cell multiplication, cell differentiation and cell death. Another factor that researchers pointed out is that there seems to be a global immune impairment in the obese. So it is clear that fat increases your cancer risk.

Truth about Our Body

Although little boys and little girls are different, the descriptions in the rhyme are far from the truth. The male body is more muscular and therefore perhaps more protein oriented and the female body is soft with fat depots in the right places for nature’s child bearing. Of course additionally girls are sweet and sugary, they are nicer when they are little than the boys are.

Active mass is what forms our muscles. So the musculature is higher in the normal state than in the obese. It’s but natural that the fatty mass or adiposity is increased in the obese. The extra cellular fluid decreases in the obese. When people say that they are really not fat but have a higher weight due to water retention, it can only be true if they are highly hypertensive, or when they have renal problems. The connective tissue is replaced with adipose tissue. Hence it is less in the obese.

Simple Ways To Avoid Scabies

Scabies is a medical condition caused by a particular kind of mite. It is common all over the world and affects people of all races, nationality and creed. It causes itchy skin in people and is highly contagious, especially in crowded places where skin-to-skin contact is high.

Hence places like hospitals, nursing homes, child-care centers are places where the probability of either contracting scabies or spreading it is high. Sharing clothes, towels, bed linens, etc will also spread scabies. People cannot get scabies from pets as they get a different mite infection.

The symptoms are almost constant itching and pimple like rashes, irritation of skin especially at nights and sores from scratching. Treating methods are none but a variety of lotions and ointments and creams that are available in the market. Care should be taken to see that the infected person’s clothing, towel, linen and all such stuff are washed separately in hot water and dried separately in a hot drier.
